I love the digital radio stuff. it’s so much better than the sh on regular radio

Wow, I wish a deal like this would come to the US! Seems like you cant get any service here without half your paycheck for the month being gone!

  4. JamesC on October 24th, 2007

This does seem like an excellent deal, but I wonder why sky aren’t promoting the deal themselves and only Dixons. It’s a perfect way for sky to get new customers to see what they offer, but without the commitment.

Looks like Sky are pre-empting BBC Freesat with this deal and are grabbing as many people as possible before it launches, but with what looks like a limited offer? I bet there will be more deals like this next year as the competition hots up. It would also be a great idea if there was a Sky Plus and/or Sky HD Freesat option.

This sounds like a pretty good deal. What do you really think?

Unfortunately the uptake on this incredible Freesat From Sky offer has been huge and Dixons have sold out. They expect to be able to resume this Freesat Offer sometime in Mid November 2007.

I’m paying a lot for my current provider and to have a one time fee with the option to upgrade sounds really great…lots of freedom

This offer is back in stock at Dixons.

Will this system work around the Alicante region of Spain? At present we are limited to 2.4m dishes to see the BBC or else a ‘pirated’ subscription package, with less than 40 channels, from one of the local operators?

  11. admin on November 28th, 2007

Unfortunately the phone connection required for this Freesat Offer will not allow you to take this system to Spain whilst under the contract period. Also if you use a 2.4m satellite dish to receive the BBC channels then you would need to continue with that dish size.

Nice deal. But can we confidently say that it will be allowed for a long time. E.G satellite companies won’t try and stop this as it damages pay per view television?

  13. UK HDTV on December 24th, 2007

This seems very interesting as sky offers many features which will be very beneficial to many of us because of its no monthly fee, different digital TV and radio stations and many more.

most people with hdtv want to watch hd content without having to pay sky tvs extortionate rates.im certainly getting bbc freesat for that very reason.

  17. Digital TV Forum on April 10th, 2008
